What has eight legs, soft fur, and the cutest little dispositions in the world? TWO BRAND NEW PUPPIES! Two of my former coworkers, Susan and Cindy, adopted two sweet little Miniature Australian Shepherd puppies recently and I was lucky enough to get to photograph them playing in their backyard. Folks, I didn’t think it was possible for a dog to rival a cat in absolute adorability (yes, I just made up that word), but there you have it: these little munchkins ate my heart alive. Koda and Kaya are sisters and surprisingly enough, the smaller of the two (Kaya) is the oldest. It took Susan and Cindy several years, after the death of their beloved dog Kaboodle, to be able to adopt again, but when it came time to do so, I can’t imagine that they could have picked more perfect little puppies than these two babies. Their 17 year old cat, Kit, is perhaps not as enamored of them as everyone else, but he’s still making sure that he is the alpha animal around the house, and is still very much beloved by his moms.
Please enjoy a few photographs from the session, and feel free to book your own session soon!
Sorry for the long delay in posting. I’ve been out taking photos and sitting down with some graphic design books lately, determined to finally get a handle on Photoshop and Illustrator. I want to do some exploration in graphic design, which I find endlessly fascinating, so studying has been taking up a lot of my time. And seeing as how I haven’t cracked a book to study even once since graduating from college 11 years ago (dear GOD!) it’s been a bit of a struggle to keep myself motivated enough to plow through my books.
In any case, I wanted to share some photos I took of Lexi and Lola a few weeks ago. They are two sweet little Dachshund sisters who are inseparable and as adorable as can be. Their mama, Laura, was as nice as her doggies and I loved getting to spend some early Saturday morning time with them both. Enjoy, and remember, if you want to book a session, click here for more information!
“Hey, bebbeh. Whatchoo doin’?”
Introducing Cheeky Juanita, the move divalicious dog to ever grace the planet! This small little Pekingese enjoys long walks on the beach, time with her mama, and not obeying directions. How can you not respect that? Cheeky was a little bit brash, a little bit sassy, and a whole bundle of energy! Enjoy!
My former coworker Jennifer allowed me to take photographs recently of her newly acquired doodlebug, Duncan! Duncan was in need of a good home, as some horrible (horrible!) person had taken his collar off and dropped him off in the middle of a street a while back, leaving him all by himself. For a while, Duncan survived on his own, until Jennifer and her family came to the rescue! Now, less than two weeks after being adopted, Duncan has clearly made himself at home with his new family.
I have never been around dachshunds before, and I may or may not have fallen in love with this breed. When Duncan runs, his little bottom sways back and forth while his teeny legs rapidly move to and fro. I don’t know how you can watch something like this and not collapse from the cuteness. To. Die. For. Duncan was extremely sweet and good-natured as well, letting his mom hold him so I could take pictures of his adorable little face. He has the most AMAZING rust-colored fur as well.
Here are a few more photos of Duncan for your enjoyment. Bask in the cuteness and don’t forget to book your own session here!
I’ve known my friend Brett for years: we worked together ages ago at one company and then later ended up getting jobs at another company, reconnecting in the process. You may remember that a few months ago, Brett was kind enough to root my HP Touchpad with Android. In all this time, I heard him speak often of his German Shepherd, Sable, yet I had never met her. With this new foray into pet photography, it was definitely time to meet Mz. Sable!
Sable was ADORABLE. We met up at the Hoover Dog Park on a lovely Saturday morning. At first, she was very skittish and nervous as she hadn’t been around very many dogs before. She spent the first fifteen minutes or so of our session smelling EVERYTHING on the ground. Her sweet nature eventually came out and she was out there with all the other dogs, smelling rear ends and sniffing noses. Brett tried (unsuccessfully) to get her to chase after her ball and a Frisbee we found, but no such luck. Sable was going to do what Sable wanted to do, no matter what we wanted. It was a good challenge for me!
Eventually, Brett managed to get Sable to climb on part of the obstacle course, although he had to climb it with her, which was actually really sweet. She looked quite proud to be standing on top of the wooden structure. (Both Sable and I were impressed at Brett’s ability to climb this obstacle as well…hah!) Before the day was over, she had climbed it all by herself and she basked in all the praise we heaped on her.
It was a fun day, and I loved getting the chance to do something nice for Brett, who has always been so helpful to me in the past. I also REALLY enjoyed getting to meet Sable, who was just as sweet as I’d been told she was. (Sometimes she will do a full-body hug on Brett when they are sitting on the couch, which is almost too sweet for words.)
Enjoy a few more photos from the day!
