Birmingham Pet Photography: Whiskey on the RocksPosted: April 30, 2012
Last week I had the pleasure of meeting Whiskey, of the Whiskey on the Rocks blog. It was hard not to fall in love with such a sweet, gentle dog. Whiskey’s mom, Gina, blogs about her travels with Whiskey as they hike in Birmingham and the surrounding areas. Whiskey’s devotion to Gina was evident: he was constantly watching out for her, following her obediently, and generally making sure she was nearby at all times. It was a joy to watch them interact. I am so used to living with cats, who are so independent, that I forget how devoted so many pets can be to their masters. I think my cats could learn a thing or two from Mr. Whiskey!
Whiskey looks almost wolf-life sometimes (he is part husky), and he has the most lovely fur imaginable. It’s difficult to resist the urge to pet him with his beautiful coat. He also has an interesting story, one that could have ended so tragically had not Gina and her husband rescued him. You can read about it here, on her blog, and I urge you to do so. It’s so sad to think of all the animals who DIDN’T make it in time, but thanks to kind people like Gina, these animals have another chance!
I hope to photograph Whiskey again some day, because he’s just THAT special. Please enjoy a few more photographs of this handsome man (he is adorable in his jaunty red bandana!), and check out Whiskey’s blog and Facebook page!
