New Photography Ideas

Happy Tuesday to everyone! I took yesterday off from blogging, and it was a nice chance to recharge my batteries. I was also quite busy, what with a full day of work and then a 2.5 hour sewing class almost immediately after. I did manage to list two new items in the shop yesterday, so please don’t forget to check them out.
I have some immediate plans to visit a few local florists and see if they have any interesting flowers that I’ve yet to see at my normal haunts. I think I have overdosed on daisies and chrysanthemums, so it’s time to find new flowers to photograph! If anyone out there has suggestions for neat flowers to photograph, please leave me a comment and I’ll see if I can get that kind of flower.
I’m also hoping to explore more non-macro photography as I go along. I’ve already added several urban decay and rural decay images to my shop, but I’m hoping to photograph interesting, dreamy landscapes in the near future. I feel like I have a pretty good handle on nailing down my own, unique style, but there is always work to be done and I think that finding some new images/themes will help me become a much better photographer. I never, ever want to stop learning.

Great shots! I visited both of your pages of images. I really like the rural decay – probably because I spent my childhod in the midwest.
Would one consider North Dakota to be Midwest? I only ask because a few years ago, Vanity Fair did a BEAUTIFUL story/photo spread on ghost towns in North Dakota. It had some of the most amazing photography I’ve ever seen. Very haunting. I haven’t had much luck Googling it just now, but if you ever come across it, definitely take a peek at it.

If you’re interested in some really wild and wacky florals, ask the florist for Protea or other tropicals – they’re much more structural than pretty though.

I love your current obsessions! For florals, I love Dahlias…lilies..flowers with big stamen sticking out….or anything with bees…I fell in love with Lupine while in Maine, but I’m not sure you can find those. They are pink and purple and look like bunches of little mittens!
